During the scientific meetings held by AllEnvi in 2016, Irstea, one of the alliance's founding members, invites you to a day of debate on climate, energy and ecological transitions on Monday, July 4, 2016 at the CNRS auditorium in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Thierry Mandon, Secretary of State in charge of Higher Education and Research, will be concluding the talks.

In a context of intense change one year after COP21, what are the big scientific issues to focus on in order to help society face the necessary challenges of climate, energy and ecological transitions? What are the benefits of digital transition?

To help make progress on these emerging concerns and rally the scientific community, the National Alliance for Environmental Research is organizing a day of collective debate on Monday, July 4, 2016 in Paris.

CLIMATE, ENERGY and ECOLOGICAL TRANSITIONS for a sustainable planet

Interactions between biodiversity and climate change, data science, information technology, environmental technology and research issues in developing countries will be the focus of COP22.

After taking an active role during COP21 and as a founding member of AllEnvi, Irstea will be taking part in the day's events:

  • Nicolas de Menthière, Director of Forecasting, Monitoring and Development of Scientific and Technical Information, will be talking about forecasting in environmental macro-scenarios during the general introduction.
  • Pierrick Givone, Director General of Research and Innovation, will be conducting the day's second round table discussions on ecological transition.
