Financial Overview of the Irstea Partnership Research Program (2010)

More than 30% of the Irstea budget comes from its own resources of which 12% through direct contracts with the business sector. More than one-third of the resources generated by the research and production of new knowledge occurs within partnership research programs.
The water sector is Cemagref’s core activity, accounting for 63% of its contractual resources and 50% of its personnel. The other major economic sectors illustrating Irstea partnerships are in the agricultural machinery industry, with emphasis on the close collaboration with SMCs, ISCs and VSCs in agricultural eco-technologies, waste, agro-industry and regional planning.
There are nearly 300 active contracts each year including 120 contracts with the commercial sector. Since 2005, Irstea has partnered with just over 175 French companies, 150 of which have less than 5000 employees.
