Comments ...

My company was created as a result of a knowledge and technology transfer from Irstea and Iowa State University; it was part of a continuation of the work carried out with the Irstea team and this collaboration is still ongoing 10 years later. Ondalys was the first start-up to benefit from a period of incubation by Irstea in Montpellier. This support helped me start my project while benefiting from a good working environment: being near the scientific team, having an office and any necessary logistics.
Sylvie Roussel, founder of Ondalys
The company employs a dozen people including two Irstea doctors.  It provides multivariate data analysis services and training for better product and process quality control. Fields of application: Agri-food, agro-industry, pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals.

Choosing incubation is both strategic and necessary. Our first projects were directly linked to the G-EAU JRU and we are still partners in several scientific projects. Minéa, Irstea’s incubator, was the biggest help. We benefited from invaluable advice to create and manage our company. Working with and near researchers is a source of inspiration and knowledge for us (participating in thesis committees, contributing to scientific articles, etc.) This proximity also allowed us to implement a community of experts, to be near key sponsors and enlarge our network.
Yorck Von Korff, Co-founder of Lisode
This cooperative company specialises in developing and supporting public participation processes and employs six engineers/researchers.
