Launched by American scientists to raise awareness of “new policies that threaten to hamper the ability of researchers to carry out their research and distribute their results,” the initiative has galvanized scientists and citizens the world over.
Marches will take place in 15 towns across France such as Brest, Thonon, Strasbourg and Toulouse. The 12 research organizations that make up AllEnvi, the National Alliance for Environmental Research, fully support this global mobilization and invite all members of the public to take part.
Because science is a common good for democracy. Because by creating knowledge and solutions, it is an essential component in dealing with the major challenges facing our world. This is especially true for environmental issues.
