Jean Marc Bournigal, President of Irstea, submitted a report on the agricultural machinery project today to Stéphane Le Foll, Minister of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Forestry; Emmanuel Macron, Minister of the Economy, Industry and Digital Technology; and Geneviève Fioraso, Secretary of State in charge of Higher Education and Research. As part of the agricultural machinery and the Nouvelle France Industrielle (New Industrial France) projects, the aim of this project was to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the agricultural machinery sector.
The agricultural machinery and equipment sector is a growing sector across the world. As the third largest manufacturer in Europe, France is well placed in the market.
The report submitted today puts forward 9 recommendations organized into 3 sections :

ENCOURAGING INNOVATION AND ORGANIZING THE ECOSYSTEM
REINFORCING SKILLS AND PROCESSES WITHIN THE INDUSTRY

|Developing agricultural robots||Making innovation networks more attractive to value chain stakeholders||Building a skills/testing resource center|
|Preparing for digital agriculture||Improving international representation|
|Implementing an industry Strategic committee|
A symposium on the main results and perspectives of this research will be held during SIMA (International Agricultural Business Show), which will be held February 22-26, 2015.
